CSI: Dark Motives
I would like to thank my Daughter Jessica Armstrong for assisting me by test-driving this walkthrough and making sure I didn't miss anything or make any major mistakes.
For those of you who played the first CSI game, and are familiar with the structure and interface of the game, I ask you to bear with me if I tend to be a little too detailed in my instructions at first. For those who are playing CSI Dark motives and have not played the first CSI game don't be concerned, it is not crucial for you to have played the other game as this game is independent and it doesn't really matter if you played the first one or even if you play it after "Dark Motives". For those first timers I hope my instructions are clear enough without bordering on the tedious.
Before you start you are welcomed by the head of the Las Vegas CSI night shift team Gil Grissom.
The first CSI you get to work with is Catherine Willows. After she greets you, go to the Casino Stunt Site.
Once the initial animation is over, move your screen to show the stunt ramp. (You can turn the screen by moving your mouse cursor to the far left or right of the screen)
Click about halfway up the ramp. (Case File Updated)
After the animation click once again about half way up the ramp. (Case File Updated). Back out of the screen twice. (Double arrows on your mouse cursor appear to the side of the screen)
Click on the tire track. (The Police Forensics truck should be lined up directly behind it) (New Victim added)
Back out of the screen. Move the view left until you see a large truck parked side on. There is a puddle of liquid on the ground. Click on it. This is where you get to use your first CSI tool. Go to the "Tools" bar, and then go to the "Collection" bar. Click on the "Swab", and then click on the liquid (Evidence Updated). Back out of the screen.
Move your view a little to the left. You see the crashed Motorcycle and three large drums in a row. We won't go to the Motorcycle yet. The third drum from the Motorcycle has a hot spot beneath it, click on it for a closer look. Oh dear, the crime scene has been tampered with, nothing else we can do here so back out of the screen.
Click on the motorcycle. (Been dying to do that haven't you?)
There is a yellow stain on the ground near the bike, let's take a swab. Click on the stain for a closer look.
Under the "Tools" bar, the "Detection" bar has the "Swab"
Use the "Swab" to take a sample of the yellow liquid. (Evidence Updated). Click out of the screen.
Click on the front tire. Use the "Adhesive Lifter" tool on the tire to take a print. (Evidence Updated). Exit the screen.
Click on the base of the handlebars for a closer look. You can see a service sticker. Use the "Tweezers" on the sticker. (Evidence Updated)
Go to the Engine. Sometimes the game will let you examine the engine closer, other times you will need to talk to the stunt rider first. If you can't examine it go to your "Locations" bar and directly to St. Anthony's Hospital. See below)
If you can :
Click on the engine for a closer look.
Click on the spring mechanism.
Click on "Detection" under your "Tools" bar. Use the "Magnifying Scope" on the pointy bit of the spring.
Exit the screen and go to the "Collection" bar and use the "Tweezers" on the spring. (Evidence Updated)

Just below where the spring was is a cable, click on it for a closer look.
Use your "Swab" on the cable. (Evidence Updated)
Exit the screen.
Near the top of the motor you can see a hazy white area, click on it for a closer look.
Go to the "Detection" bar and use the "Finger Print Powder" on the hazy area. We have a fingerprint. (Evidence Updated)
Exit the screen.
We are done with the motor. Exit the screen.
Go to the "Locations" bar and go to "St. Anthony's Hospital."
Watch the animation and arrive at the Hospital. You see a patient in a Hospital bed, must be the stunt rider. Click: on Ace.

In the middle of the screen is the computer; click on it.
Click on "Finger Prints"
At the top of the screen you see a small box with the fingerprint we took from the motor from the bike.
Drag the "Engine Finger Print" into one of the large boxes.
Click on "Search" (Result Found)

There are five small boxes on the lower part of the screen; they now each contain a fingerprint.
Drag each small fingerprint into the other large box to compare it to the "Engine Finger Print". No match.
Click on "Main Menu"
Go to "Tire Treads"
Drag the "Motorcycle Tread" (in the small box near the top of the screen) into one of the large boxes.
Click on "Search" (Result Found)
Click "Continue"
Five different tire treads appear in the small boxes near the bottom of the screen.
Drag the one you think matches our print into the other large box (try the second from the left, code 10244)
Click "Confirm match" (Tire Tread Match Confirmed)

By now you should be more or less used to the interface of this game so from now on I will be a little less detailed with my instructions as you should by now know where your evidence and tools etc are located on the screen and you won't need long-winded instructions.

Turn the screen right until you are facing a long the length of the ward, there is a doorway with a large letter "C" next to it.

Watch the animation. Let's have a good look at the wheel chair.

Hold your cursor over the handle of the wheel chair where you took the fingerprint from and follow it down until you find the hotspot, click on it. Use the tube of "Mikrosil" on the faded numbers.
